Analysis: The completion rate data for the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology major in Automotive Technology presents the cohorts admitted from 2018 to 2023. The data reveal fluctuations in program completion over the years, with notable improvements observed in the most recent cohort with available data.
The 2018 cohort, expected to graduate in 2022, recorded a completion rate of 66.66%, with 52 out of 78 students successfully completing the academic requirements. The 2019 cohort showed a lower completion rate of 55.96%, as 61 of 109 students completed the program. While the 2020 cohort experienced the lowest completion rate at 29.89%, with only 29 of 97 students completing their academic requirements, while 68 students did not complete the program. This substantial decline may reflect challenges that affected student progression during this period. A significant improvement was observed in the 2022 cohort, expected to graduate in 2026, which achieved the highest completion rate of 77.08%. Of the 96 students in the original cohort, 74 successfully completed the academic requirements, while only 22 did not complete, indicating a marked enhancement in student persistence and program completion.
The 2023 cohort has no available completion data because the expected year of completion is 2027, and the cohort has not yet reached the end of the program. Overall, the completion rate data show varying levels of student success across cohorts, with a decline from the 2018 to 2021 cohorts, followed by a strong recovery in the 2022 cohort. The highest completion rate of 77.08% suggests improvements in student retention, academic support, and program effectiveness. Despite the temporary decline experienced by earlier cohorts, the recent increase indicates that the institution is making progress in ensuring that students successfully complete their academic programs.
Graduation Rate
Formula: Graduation Rate = (Number of Graduates ÷ Original Cohort) × 100
| Academic Year | Original Cohort | Number of Graduates | Graduation Rate (%) |
| 2022 | 78 | 52 | 66.66% |
| 2023 | 109 | 61 | 55.96% |
