NIPSC LEMERY CAMPUS ON ITS 20 MILESTONE YEARS AS COLLEGE

Brief History
 
            It was July 1966 when Lemery Barrio High School was first established with 5 borrowed teachers from Victorino Salcedo High School Sara, Iloilo under the supervision of Mrs. Fortunata Alcantara Indiana, the principal of Victorino Salcedo High School, Sara, Iloilo. Then in the year 1966-1972, Mr. Albaro Balano, the principal of the Lemery Central Elementary School was appointed as assistant principal of Lemery Barrio High School.However, in 1972-1974, Mr. Zeus Doplayna took over the principalship when Mr. Balano retired.
 
            On August 1974, the conversion of Lemery Barrio High School into Lemery Municipal High School under the supervision of Miss Paciencia Bustillo was realized. In 1976, Mrs. Selina D. Villarba was designated Officer-in-Charge of the school until her appointment as Principal 1 was approved.
 
            June 10, 1983, Lemery Municipal High School was converted to Lemery National High School, then in 1988, Mr. Wilfredo Andreo was appointed principal of Lemery National High School and on November 1991, Mrs. Araceli T. Habaradas took over the headship of the school. But, on November 1993, Mrs. Araceli Habaradas was assigned as the administrator of Victorino Salcedo National High School Sara, Iloilo, so she left the school to Mrs. Tessie A. Masongsong and was designated as Officer-in-Charge.
            On March 1994, the Lemery National High School was adjudged as No. 1 National High School among all secondary schools in the 5th congressional district and No. 6 among all secondary schools in the province of Iloilo.
 
            On August 8, 1994, started the college life of Lemery National High School for it was converted to Lemery Polytechnic College by virtue of R.A. 7787 through the effort of Congressman Niel D. Tupas, Sr. 
 
Year 1: 1995
 
            On May 23, 1995, an authority was granted by Department of Education to Lemery Polytechnic College to offer Food and Beverage Preparation and Services and Electronic Technology effective SY 1995-1996.
 
 
Year 2: 1996
            Lemery Polytechnic College continued to cater the needs of the students. By providing additional facilities for foods and beverage and electronics programs. This the year when the school had received recognition for one of its Alumni who was awarded as One of the Top Ten Students in Region VI by CHED, DECS and the Rotary Club of Iloilo in the person of Miss April Aura Andong, who also graduated as Magna Cum Laude at West Visayas State University.
 
 
Year 3: 1997
 
            This is the year of the first batch of graduates of the FBPS and Electronics Technology program. The first graduates were only 25 of them.
 
 
Year 4: 1998:
 
On June 16, 1998, authority was granted to Lemery Polytechnic College to offer the first degree program, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education major in Food/Electronic Technology under CHED Order No. 32.
 
 
Year 5: 1999
 
The school had a consortium program with Palmares Computer School in order to offer Computer Programming and Computer Secretarial Courses. Eleven secondary teachers were reclassified into Instructors position.
 
 
Year 6: 2000
 
It was November 23, 2000 when the College was confirmed integrated with NIPSC under BOT Res. No. 33-73-200 pursuant to CHED Order No. 27, s. 2000.  NIPSC Board of Trustees recognized the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program of Lemery Polytechnic College under BOT Res. No. 34-73-2000and the Bachelor in Secondary Education program of Lemery Polytechnic College under BOT Res. No. 35-73-2000.
 
 
Year 7: 2001:
 
January 24, 2001,  NIPSC BOT approved the official name of Lemery Polytechnic College to Lemery Polytechnic College, NIPSC Lemery Campus under BOT Res. No. 07-74-2001. Then, Mrs. Tessie A. Masongsong was designated as OIC, College Administrator of Lemery Polytecnic College under BOT Res. No. 09-74-2001. Then on July 20, 2001, Mrs. Tessie A. Masongsong was appointed as College Administrator I of LemeryPolytechnicCollege, NIPSC Lemery Campus.
 
 
Year 8: 2002
 
March 13, 2002, NIPSC BOT approved the offering of BEED with specialization in Filipino under BOT Res. No. 04-79-2002.  The college for its pioneer batch of the BSIE program Major in Electronics and Foods, garnered 64.70% passing percentage for the PRC –Licensure Examination.
 
 
Year 9: 2003
 
The reclassification of other secondary teachers was also approved and NBC 1st Cycle was approved.
 
 
Year 10: 2004
 
On July 28, 2004, Lemery Polytechnic College, NIPSC Lemery Campus was changed to NIPSC Lemery Campus under BOT Res. No. 36-89-2004. The pioneer batch of BSED Filipino garnered a passing percentage of 72.03%. The Hillside reflector was awarded as Tourism-Oriented School paper by the Department of Tourism, and Prof. April Aura Andong was awarded as the One of the Top Ten Promising School Paper Adviser in Region VI by the Philippine Information Agency.
 
 
Year 11: 2005
 
NIPSC declared Bachelor of Science in Information Technology as its Flagship program due to a tremendous increase in enrolment. Five Instructors successfully passed the International Computer Driving License in Manila.
 
 
Year 12: 2006
 
On May 23, 2006, NIPSC BOT approved the offering of Bachelor of Science in Information Management under BOT Res. No. 10, s. 2006. Then on December 21, 2006,NIPSC BOT approved the Policy Guidelines on the utilization of Special Trust Fund and the percentage of sharing according to functions of the college. A new college president was appointed in the person of Dr. Joel Patnubay Limson.
 
 
Year 13: 2007
 
May 3, 2007: NIPSC BOT approved the Commercial Cooking NC II and PC Operation NC II as Ladderized Program of NIPSC Lemery Campus pursuant to EO 358 starting SY 2007-2008.
  • NIPSC BOT approved the official school hymn of the NIPSC System.
  • The NIPSC Lemery Campus had developed a NIPSC Lemery Campus March and which was one of the entry for the NIPSC System Hymn Contest with Prof. April Aura Andong as lyricist.
  • NIPSC BOT approved the rationalization through vertical integration of the General Education across academic program in the State College.
  • NIPSC BOT approved the conversion of school librarian position to College Librarian in the NIPSC System.
  • NIPSC BOT approved the manual for Student Teaching of TED.
 
 
Year 14: 2008:
 
On August 19, 2008, BSED major in Physical Education and Associate in Computer Technician leading to BSIT was approved under BOT Res. 42, s. 2008. The proposed swimming pool and pavillon were started for construction under the sponsorship of Hon. Niel Jun-Jun Tupas Jr. The college had the first Magna Cum Laude in the BSED Filipino Program: Miss Quifzyn Dolendo
 
  
Year 15: 2009
 
On July 15, 2009, the Enhancement of Food and Beverage Preparation and Services into BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management was approved under BOT Res. No. 37, s. 2009.
 
 
Year 16: 2010
 
The First Kanaway Festival was launched during the 2010 Municipal Fiesta spearheaded by Dr. Joel P. Limson and Mrs. Tessie A. Masongsong. NIPSC Lemery Campus took the first Miss Kanaway crown. 100% passing percentage for the Commercial Cooking NC II of the BSHRM student.
 
 
Year 17: 2011
 
Three Instructors passed the CHED Scholarship program at Cebu Institute of Technology University taking Master in Information Technology namely Mr Rene D. Arduo, Mr. Reylan B. Vili and Mr. Carlo Intila. The college pioneered the launching of the First Lanterns and Christmas Trees festival. The college had a national entry for track event and garnered three (3) gold medal during the National SCUAA Meet in the name of Miss Lea Dagohoy.
 
 
Year 18: 2012
 
On July 9, 2012, BSIT Program passed the AACCUP Preliminary Survey Visit with a rating of 4.0.  Dr. April Aura Andong Cacho was recognized as Pioneer National research presenter in the AACCUP 25th National Conference on February 22, 2012.
 
 
Year 19: 2013
 
NIPSC Lemery Campus ranked first runner-up in the NIPSC System Inter-Campus Literay-Cultural Contest at NIPSC Estancia, Iloilo. Mrs. Tessie A. Masongsong, Prof, Ruby S. Yotoko and Prof. Jose Chichany C. Cacho launched the Municipal Hymn entitled “ Lemery: Banwang Nahamut-an. RA 10597 converting NIPSC to NISU was signed by President Aquino however with compliance for the CHED until December 2015 for its full recognition as university.
 
 
Year 20: 2014
 
On July 28-August 1, the NIPSC System subjected each campus and program into universityhood evaluation by the Commission on Higher Education; the campus was recognized for being the top in percentage passing rate for PRC-Licensure Examination for Teachers and having a well-established Food Processing Laboratory; well-structured and organized administration building.
 
Management Team was created by Dr. Joel P. Limson to temporarily managed the campus with Chairman: Dr April Aura Andong Cacho and Members: Dr. Ruby S. Yotoko and Prof. Roger P. Domingo. Dr. Romy Billones was designated as Officer-in-charge of NIPSC after the term of Dr. Joel P.  Limson.
 
 
Year 21: 2015:  Dr.  April Aura Andong Cacho was officially designated as the Campus Administrator of NIPSC Lemery Campus effective November 14, 2015.
 
 
Year 22: 2016: NIPSC Lemery Campus ranked No. 2 among all NIPSC Campus in the Performance-Based Bonus Ranking.

The Northern Iloilo State University has the following purposes:

  1. Provide advanced and higher education and training in the fields of industry, agriculture, fisheries, arts, sciences, education, management, hospitality & tourism, information technology, engineering, criminal justice and services as well as, continuing education;
  2. Promote progressive leadership in research and advanced studies in the fields of industry, agriculture, fisheries, arts, sciences, education, management, hospitality & tourism, information technology, engineering, criminal justice;
  3. Undertake sustainable extension activities for technology transfer and solution of social problems, and;
