BASIC RESEARCH ETHICS TRAINING 2023

Objectives of the Activity:
- Acquire a basic understanding of the general ethical principles, roles, and responsibilities of REC
- Recognize and apply essential characteristics of ethical research,
- for the good man
- scientifically sound and
- ethnically sound
The training aims to provide our research ethics committee members with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure that research activities are conducted in accordance with the highest ethical standards. And this training was attended by faculty members who were nominated to become Regular and Alternative members across NISU Campuses.
In addition, this training is a collaboration with the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB) through REMB VI.
Resource Persons:
FRED P. GUILLERGAN
Dr. Fred P. Guillergan is a Medical Doctor specializing in Internal Medicine.
Currently, he is a member of the West Visayas State Un*iversity United Research Ethics Committee (WVSU URERC) and a PHREB Accreditor and Trainor.
PROF. LERMA L. PARIS
Prof. Lerma L. Paris is a licensed Medical Technologist and holds a Masteral Degree on Public Health (Parasitology) from the University of the Philippines College of Public Health Manila . Currently, Prof. Paris is the Chairperson of the Committee on Information Dissemination, Training and Advocacy (CIDTA) of the Regional Ethics Monitoring Board (REMB) VI. She is an advocate of public health, research ethics and research utilization.
