ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum 2025 (AEF2025)

We are excited to announce that two of our esteemed Campus Administrators from Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) have been granted the opportunity to participate in the ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum 2025 (AEF2025) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from February 23-25, 2025. Dr. Ruby Yotoko from the Barotac Viejo Campus and Dr. Wilfreda G. Arones from the Lemery Campus will represent our institution at this significant event.

Dr. Bobby D. Gerardo, our university president, is a strong advocate for internationalization and globalization. He is committed to fostering an environment that encourages faculty and students to engage in global events, emphasizing the crucial role of international linkages in the university's growth and development. His support underscores the importance of broadening our horizons and collaborating with other institutions across Southeast Asia.

We look forward to the insights and experiences our administrators will gain at AEF2025, which will enhance our efforts to strengthen NISU’s global presence and partnerships.

Northern Iloilo State University is deeply mournful of the passing of Dr. Zinnia Parcon Teruel, former Regional Director of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VI and former Board of Trustee Member of the Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (now NISU). Her loss leaves an immense void in the hearts of all who had the honor of working with her, and her remarkable contributions to both science and education will be forever remembered.
Throughout her career, Dr. Teruel was a visionary, dedicating her efforts to advancing science, technology, and education in the region. Her impact also extended to higher education, where, as a member of the NIPSC Board of Trustees, she played an instrumental role in shaping the future of the institution. Her legacy continues to inspire and guide future generations of students, faculty, and staff.
During this time of sorrow, we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and all who were touched by her presence. Her kindness, selflessness, and ability to inspire others forged enduring relationships with all who were fortunate to know her. While Dr. Teruel may no longer be with us, her legacy will live on through the countless lives she impacted and the lasting difference she made in her community, her country, and the fields of science and education.
May her soul rest in peace. Her leadership, dedication, and compassion will always be cherished, and she will be deeply missed.
