NISU produces third batch of graduates after transitioning into universityhood

 

 

A total of 974 graduates marched in this year’s commencement exercises of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU)- Main Campus coming from its bachelor’s degree program and graduate school programs at NISU Gymnasium, June 19, 2024.
 
The conduct of the said activity marked the third graduation ceremony of NISU after its conversion into universityhood in April 2022.
 
Regional Director for Region VI of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Dr. Raul C. Alvarez Jr., CESO III, graced the ceremonies as this year’s commencement speaker where he urges NISU to continue producing graduates with various attributes.
 
“NISU has to continue to produce graduates with the following: the correct set of knowledge, skills, and values and also the ability to do professional and creative work and to go on lifelong learning. You must be able to apply research and innovation in a specialized field of discipline. And the degree of independence,” said Dr. Alvarez.
 
Moreover, he added how nobleness, industry imbued with resilience, service to the least and in need, and uniqueness that radiates passion for excellence a way to attain success with ease and meaning.
 
Meanwhile, in the presentation of graduates, Mrs. Leilane P. Gabion, university registrar acknowledges 56 graduates from the graduate school programs and 918 from the bachelor’s degree programs.
 
Further, 156 latin honors were awarded with BIBO medal of award for academic excellence.
 
Mr. Dave Andonaque from the Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education major in Social Studies was awarded with leadership excellence of class 2024.
