NISU marks MOU with UKI; President Gerardo claims this signing a way for more academic opportunities

 

Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI) in providing opportunities for faculty and an international internship program for students via Zoom meeting on September 11, 2024.

In an exclusive interview with the University President, Dr. Bobby D. Gerardo, he mentioned that as of now both universities envisioned four exchange students specializing in education, management, and information and computing studies.

“We from NISU will send four students from the College of Education, College of Information and Computing Studies, and College of Management. Those are priority areas for the internship program. Also, the UKI will send four students with the same specialization, and we will provide them accommodation and let them experience our local learning system,” said Dr. Gerardo.

Moreover, in his message during the signing, this significant event will positively impact both involved institutions in the pursuit of academic excellence.

“This collaboration stands as our shared commitment to the advancement of education. This partnership will not only foster stronger ties between our faculty and students but will also provide new avenues for meaningful research, instruction, and production,” Dr. Gerardo added.

Further, the activities and programs included in the said MOU are as follows: (i) dual double/joint degree programme collaboration; (ii) scholarship opportunities for students, lecturers/faculty, and staff; (iii) exchange faculty and research members; (iv) exchange students; (v) exchange administrative managers/coordinators/ staff; (vi) study abroad both offline/online; (vii) study visit; (viii) benchmarking; (ix) short-term academic programmes; (x) co-hosting international events; (xi) internship programmes; (xii) joint cultural prgrammes; (xiii) exchange of academic materials and other information; (xiv) research publications; (xv) provide research funding and incentives; and (xvi) participation in workshops, seminars, talk shows, and academic meetings.
