RSCUAA'24 concludes after six days of converging 13 SUCs in promoting sportsmanship, holistic development
As it banners this year's theme "One Western Visayas: Promoting Peace, Inclusivity, and Well-Being through Sports,” the Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (RSCUAA) ended after six days of converging 13 State Universities and Colleges (SUC's) at Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, on December 20.
Participated by the 13 SUCs: Aklan State University (ASU), Capiz State University (CSU), Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU), Central Philippines State University (CPSU), Guimaras State University (GSU), Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U), Iloilo State University of Fisheries, Science, and Technology (ISUFST), Northern Iloilo State University (NISU), Philippine Normal University (PNU), State University of Northern Negros (SUNN), University of Antique (UA), University of the Philippines-Visayas (UPV), and West Visayas State University (WVSU), this year's RSCUAA focuses on inclusivity while promoting holistic development of athletes.
During the closing ceremony, Dr. Bobby Gerardo, NISU university president and the chairperson of the Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (RASUC) VI, expressed his gratitude to the host municipality and officials for hosting the RSCUAA 2024.
"Our gratitude to the full support of the municipality of Barotac Nuevo. To Hon. Bryant Paul Biron, Hon. Hernan Biron Jr., Hon. Hernan Biron Sr., and most especially to Congressman Ferjenel Biron. To the officials of ISUFST, sports directors, athletes, and delegates. In behalf of the RASUC VI, thank you very much," said Dr. Gerardo.
Further, during the ceremony, the Top 5 universities in the official medal tally were recognized, namely (in rank order): Iloilo Science and Technology University, Capiz State University, West Visayas State University, Carlos Hilado Memorial State University, and University of Antique.
Also, the turning over of SCUAA banner to Northern Iloilo State University was held, indicating the official passing over of responsibility to the host university of the RSCUAA 2025.
