NISU Students receive TDP, TES cash assistance scholarship
A total of 289 students of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU)- Main Campus received a cash assistance through Tulong Dunong Scholarship Program (TDP) and Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) on August 29, 2024.
With 24 TES, 101 TDP-TES, and 164 TDP-SUC grantees, the said scholarship is a government stipend for qualified students who undergone financial crisis in terms of their academic expenses.
“Kabay nga dugang ini [TDP and TES] nga inspirasyon kag determinasyon para sa mga students nga mapadayon nila ila pageskwela. I hope ang inyo mga handom ma lab-ot niyo,” said Hon. Bianca R. Espinosa, in behalf of Board Member Binky Tupas.
She also reminded the grantees that jobs do not define success, rather on how students treat their co-workers and the people around them.
Furthermore, in behalf of the recipients, a 4th year student from Bachelor of Science in Biology delivered on how the aforementioned grant benefit him in terms of academics.
“Being a college student at a free tuition university is already a huge help in my education; however, the reality is, we still have some payments that are not covered by the free tuition. This scholarship, when used properly, assisted my 4-year stay at NISU and minimized financial burden,” said Webster Jhon Cerujano.
He also urged the grantees to maximize the use of TDP and TES in their academics and daily allowance.
