NISU-Main Campus Joins Igpat Estancia 2025 With Marine-Inspired Parol

Northern Iloilo State University–Main Campus joined the vibrant celebration of Igpat Estancia 2025: Opening of Lights on December 8, 2025, as Estancia embraced the Christmas spirit in the “Alaska of the Philippines.”
The festivities began with a glowing Parade of Lights featuring the Parol of various fraternities, organizations, and school institutions from across Estancia. Participants marched from Brgy. Botongon to the Municipal Hall, illuminating the streets with vibrant colors and holiday cheer.
As one of the school institutions that joined the Parol Making Contest, Northern Iloilo State University–Main Campus showcased their parol inspired by aquatic and marine resources—perfectly reflecting Estancia’s culture and identity.

The formal program opened with a solemn doxology prayer led by the Estancia youth, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the Estancia Hymn, led by faculty members from Estancia National High School.
“Paskwa na, smile na kita tanan. Let us continue to share love, kindness, and good vibes sa Estancia.” Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Mark Cordero exclaimed as he delivered his Welcome Remarks, uplifting the crowd with his words.
To further fill the atmosphere with the warmth of Christmas, students from Estancia Central Elementary School serenaded the community with a heartfelt rendition of the song “Christmas in Our Hearts.”
Board Member Dr. Darl Tupas also delivered an inspirational message, expressing his continued commitment and promising support for the programs and development of Estancia. Followed by a dynamic dance performance from Estancia Elite, showcasing their signature beat and energy.
One of the highlights of the evening was the ceremonial Opening of the Lights, led by Hon. Mayor Bianca Requinto, who acknowledged the collective efforts that made the celebration possible.
“Tanan, ululupod kita pasiga sang aton banwa,” Mayor Requinto declared, echoing the night’s theme of unity and shared hope.
Adding more joy to the event, Jollibee entertained the crowd with a lively dance number, followed by a special singing performance from Yammika Nagae, Estancia’s representative for the upcoming Miss Iloilo 2025 pageant.
The program concluded with the announcement of winners for the Parol Making Contest, wrapping up the evening with creativity, community pride, and the bright promise of the Christmas season.
