NISU Holds Strategic Goals and Planning Conference Despite Class Suspensionย

Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) pushed through with its Conference-Workshop on the formulation of ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ ๐ข๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ฅ๐ฌ, ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ ๐ข๐๐ฌ, ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ง๐ฎ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ ๐ข๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง ๐
๐ ๐๐๐๐โ๐๐๐๐, even as onsite classes were cancelled due to Typhoon Verbena. The activity was held at the R&E Conference Hall, West Campus, Estancia, Iloilo, gathering key officials and planning teams committed to shaping the universityโs next five years.

Representing University President Dr. Bobby D. Gerardo, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Gilda E. Deguma emphasized the importance of unity and foresight in crafting the institutionโs long-term direction.

โThe strength of our strategic plan will depend on the clarity of our vision, the courage of our ideas, and the collective commitment we bring into this room today. Let us remember that the work we do here becomes the foundation of a stronger, more innovative, and more resilient NISU, a university that truly embodies excellence, sustainability, and hope," she said.

Dr. Deguma highlighted NISUโs evolution from its humble beginnings to a rapidly expanding state university deeply rooted in community service. As NISU continues to grow, she underscored its aspiration to become an Icon of Hope for Development, calling on participants to elevate efforts in instruction, research, extension, governance, and innovation.

She added that this vision โchallenges us to create pathways that uplift not only our students but the communities and sectors that depend on us.โ
Institutional Planning and Development Director Dr. Noe D. Dasig, Jr. walked participants through the mechanics of collaboratively drafting the universityโs strategic plan. He introduced the framework anchored on eight strategic pillars:

Dr. Dasig stressed that these pillars will guide all units in drafting a cohesive and unified 5-year plan that is both focused and measurable.

Despite the disruptions caused by Typhoon Verbena, the workshop pushed through, reflecting the universityโs resilience and unwavering commitment to its mission. The outputs of the activity are expected to serve as the backbone of NISUโs Strategic Plan FY 2025โ2030, positioning the institution toward innovation, inclusion, and excellence in the coming years.
