Two New Members Take Oath as NISU Board of Regents Holds Its 172nd Regular Meeting

Iloilo City — Two new members officially joined the Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) Board of Regents (BOR) as they took their oath of office during the 172nd (3rd Quarter) Regular Meeting of the NISU Board of Regents held on October 7, 2025, at Seda Atria Hotel in Iloilo City.
Hon. Jhon Langlie Roger was sworn in as the new Student Regent, representing the student body of the entire NISU system, while Hon. Ma. Theresa Geed T. Abagatnan took her oath as the new Faculty Regent, representing the teaching personnel of the university.
The oath-taking ceremony was officiated by the newly appointed Chairperson of the NISU Board of Regents, Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino, marking his first presiding session as Chair of the governing board.
As members of the Board of Regents—the highest policy-making body of the university—both Regents Roger and Abagatnan are expected to play significant roles in ensuring that the perspectives of students and faculty members are heard and represented in all major decisions concerning academic programs, institutional development, and administrative matters.

With their new roles, Regent Roger and Regent Abagatnan join the roster of esteemed members of the NISU Board of Regents, working together to advance the university’s mission of providing accessible, quality, and transformative education for the people of Northern Iloilo and beyond.
