๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜บ๐˜ฃ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜บ ๐˜Š๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜บ, ๐˜‰๐˜ถ๐˜ฌ๐˜ช๐˜ฅ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ โ€“ With the pursuit of academic, administrative, and financial excellence at the forefront, the ๐„๐ฑ๐ž๐œ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ž๐ž of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) embarked on a two-day Lakbay-Aral to Bukidnon State University (BukSU) in Malaybalay City on July 28-29, 2025, to study its best practices and institutional strategies.

Representing NISU were key university officials led by Dr. Gilda E. Deguma, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Ma. Theresa G. Palmares, Vice President for Administration and Finance. Joining them were Atty. Niezel Anen T. Sabrido, Attorney IV; Dr. Veminrose A. Clariza-Samuel, Batad Campus Administrator; Dr. Maria Antoinette D. Aquino, Chief Administrative Officer (Admin); Dr. Mylene B. Estebal, Chief Administrative Officer (Finance); Dr. Wilfreda S. Arones, Lemery Campus Administrator; and Dr. Marigrace G. Astronomia, newly elected President of the Main Campus Faculty Association.

The benchmarking visit commenced with a comprehensive orientation and dialogue with BukSU officials on their institutional academic priorities, during which BukSU shared its successes in elevating academic program standards in alignment with national and international benchmarks. This was followed by a campus tour that showcased the universityโ€™s modern facilities and student-focused amenities, which support holistic development.

A significant portion of the visit was dedicated to understanding BukSUโ€™s fiscal policies and practices, including budget allocation procedures, expenditure monitoring systems, and internal auditing processes. The NISU delegation also engaged in insightful discussions on legal compliance, handling of institutional legal matters, and strategies for effective coordination with government agencies.

The Lakbay-Aral also explored potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in strengthening educational policies, adopting digital tools for financial transparency, and enhancing governance structures for long-term institutional growth.
