NISU holds awarding ceremony to honor ten outstanding graduating students

Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) celebrated excellence as it honored the ten outstanding graduating students of the university held at the Estancia Campus gymnasium on June 17, 2025.

Spearheaded by the Office of the Student Affairs and Services, led by its Director, Dr. Jeff George Delima III, the activity underscored the NISU's commitment in nurturing holistic skills of the students and its continued mission in producing quality graduates.

"To our dear awardees, congratulations. This is a perfect gift to all your parents who have made and who have transformed tears into happiness. You are about to enter the most challenging world. Be ready. Be determined. Be prepared," said Dr. Delima III in his words of welcome.

Meanwhile, University President, Dr. Bobby D. Gerardo, expressed his acknowledgement of the outstanding students' remarkable academic performance and emphasized the exceptional demonstration of leadership.

"I am truly proud and delighted to celebrate the achievements of our ten outstanding students of Northern Iloilo State University, shining representatives from all seven campuses of our university. Your recognition today is a reflection of your hard work, perseverance, and deep dedication to your studies. It reflects not only your strong academic performance but also your ability to lead, to innovate, and to serve as role models for your fellow students," said Dr. Gerardo.

Moreover, Dr. Gilda E. Deguma, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), emphasized that the award is not just the recognition of students' commitment to academic performance, but it also symbolizes their character despite adversities.

"Being recognized as one of the university’s most outstanding graduating students is no small achievement. It is the result of countless hours of studies, moments of doubt turned into determination, and the commitment to learning that delved beyond the classroom. But beyond your awards and accomplishments, what we honor tonight is your character, your ability to rise despite the pressure, to lead with kindness, and to serve as inspiration to your peers," said Dr. Deguma.

Present also during the ceremony were Campus Administrators, Osa Directors, and Deans and representatives of Colleges, and parents.

Pursuant to BOR Resolution No. 24, S. In 2023, the selection of the ten outstanding graduating students underwent a thorough process, which included application and interview.

These ten outstanding graduates of NISU received a plaque of recognition and a cash incentive.
