NISU unveils Dagyaw 2025 Mural Painting, Holds Ribbon-cutting Ceremony

 

 

On the third and final day of the 3rd university week celebration of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU), students, faculty, and staff, together with the renowned Kikik Kollektive team gathered to witness the unveiling of the mural painting and ribbon-cutting ceremony at NISU Main Campus on May 23.
 
Kikik Kollektive conducted three-day seminar workshop, talk, and community mural with students from the College of Engineering and College of Industrial Technology. On this day, the mural painting was proudly displayed as a testament of the collaborative efforts of the participants from the two colleges.
 
“Through color and creativity our students have reminded us of the beauty of our roots and the urgency of caring for the world we live in” said Dr. Ma. Xerxa Doan P. Billones-Franco, Dean of the College of Education and Director General, in her welcome remarks.
 
After the opening message, Dr. Bobby D. Gerardo, University President, and Hon. Ma. Angelica Bianca Requinto-Espinosa, Mayor-elect of the municipality of Estancia, delivered their warm messages and sentiments about the event.
 
 
It was then preceded by the reading of the rationale led by Dr. Michael Achas, Director of NISU Socio-cultural Affairs. Following this is the giving of certificates to the Kikik Kollektive team and the participants of the three-day seminar workshop and mural painting.
 
Kristine Buenavista, Co-founder of the Kikik Kollektive, represented their team and shared their experiences on this vibrant fusion of collaboration, contemporary expression, student talent, and artistic vision.
 
Consequently, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Gilda E. Deguma, extends her acknowledgements to the people behind this momentous event.
 
The program concluded with the ribbon-cutting ceremony which stands as a lasting symbol of the successful partnership between NISU and Kikik Kollective and a vivid reminder of the creative synergy fostered during this year's University Week celebration.
