NISU and University of San Agustin seal Academic Collaboration through MOU Signing and Faculty Exchange

Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) formally welcomed academic supervisors from the University of San Agustin (USA), Iloilo City, for the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on April 7, 2025, at the NISU Board Room, Main Campus.

This significant event marked the start of an academic partnership between NISU’s College of Information and Computing Studies (CICS) and USA’s College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Education (CLASE), represented by Mr. Robert Aguilar Jr. (BSIT) and Mr. Ephraim Basal (BSCS).The partnership was launched through a Faculty Exchange Program aimed at strengthening academic ties between the institutions.

Northern Iloilo State University is deeply mournful of the passing of Dr. Zinnia Parcon Teruel, former Regional Director of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VI and former Board of Trustee Member of the Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (now NISU). Her loss leaves an immense void in the hearts of all who had the honor of working with her, and her remarkable contributions to both science and education will be forever remembered.
Throughout her career, Dr. Teruel was a visionary, dedicating her efforts to advancing science, technology, and education in the region. Her impact also extended to higher education, where, as a member of the NIPSC Board of Trustees, she played an instrumental role in shaping the future of the institution. Her legacy continues to inspire and guide future generations of students, faculty, and staff.
During this time of sorrow, we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and all who were touched by her presence. Her kindness, selflessness, and ability to inspire others forged enduring relationships with all who were fortunate to know her. While Dr. Teruel may no longer be with us, her legacy will live on through the countless lives she impacted and the lasting difference she made in her community, her country, and the fields of science and education.
May her soul rest in peace. Her leadership, dedication, and compassion will always be cherished, and she will be deeply missed.
